How long is the Wallace & Gromit trail at Haldon Forest?
The Wallace & Gromit activity trail follows the route of the Raptor Trail at Haldon Forest, which is 4.5km or three miles long.
If you are doing the trail with young children be prepared for it to be a bit more challenging than the Discovery Trail, which was the route for the last Gruffalo Trail. It’s longer and there are more hills.
However, the Raptor Trail is suitable for all terrain mobility scooters and is mostly well surfaced with a few areas of uneven forest track. Sturdy pushchairs will also make it.
How much does the Forest Walkies trail pack cost?
The Forest Walkies with Wallace & Gromit pack costs £5 and can be bought from Info Pod in the car park.
It includes:
- a tote bag
- a bandana for your dog
- a pencil and activity leaflet to complete on the trail.
What’s happened to the Gruffalo Trail?
The Gruffalo Party Trail finished at the start of January, but you can still pick up a Gruffalo Orienteering map to complete while walking the shorter Discovery Trail at Haldon Forest.
This costs £1.50 and is available from the Info Pod.
You can also hire a Forest Activity Bag with tools to help you find out more about the forest and what lives there for £5. This must be returned to the Info Pod but you get a goodie bag to take home.
