If you’re looking for a quiet campsite with a sea view in North Devon then we definitely recommend Stoke Barton Farm.

The site’s low key facilities and camping fields are well looked after and there’s no shortage of things to do close by. The South West Coast Path and Hartland Quay are within walking distance of the site and there’s plenty of places to visit in there area.

The Camping and Caravanning Club have placed their sites in some of South Devon’s most beautiful areas. Thes sites welcome both members and non-members.

Expect to find small playgrounds or games areas with the superb location being the biggest selling point for families.

If you’re looking for a Devon campsite that puts you close to a picturesque town and a stunning beach then you must check out Dartmouth Camping and Caravanning Club site.

Despite the name, it’s actually located on the outskirts of the neighbouring village of Stoke Fleming. It’s still the closest campsite to Dartmouth and has all the benefits of village life too, including a small shop and a few places to eat out.

The site itself has medium sized and comes with glimpses of the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the sea. It’s open from April to October.

California Cross Camping and Caravanning Club Site

California Cross is a quiet site with a shower block and small children’s playground. It’s the location that the jewel in its crown. It’s in the perfect location for enjoying South Devon.

Just be aware of those narrow Devon roads – there’s no getting away from them!

You could easily fill two weeks exploring the area and still have plenty to come back and see. As locals who have lived in the area for nearly six years, we’re still discovering new places!

Sea View also has a children’s nature trail featuring illustrations of Devon wildlife by a local artist.

Woodlands Grove is on the same site as Woodlands Family Theme Park, which is a top Devon attraction to visit with children of all ages.

Woodlands specialises in outdoor and indoor adventure play areas with a good helping of theme park rides.

There are no rollercoasters but there are thrill rides and fairground style attractions as well as a zoo farm.

Camping at Dartington Estate

Dartington Estate near Totnes has a simple, car-free campsite beside the beautiful River Dart with uninterrupted views of Haytor on Dartmoor. It’s also just 20 minutes from the sea.

Tents, campervan and caravans are welcome, as are dogs. Glamping pods are also available to hire.

It’s probably easier to list campsites in Devon that are not dog-friendly! If you are bringing your own tent or touring caravan then it’s highly likely your four-legged friend can join you.
