Canonteign Falls Easter activities – 28 March to 19 April 2026

Alongside waterfall walks and adventure play grounds, little explorers can enjoy a fun-filled children’s Easter at Canonteign Falls.
Here’s what’s on: the Easter egg hunt is running from 28 March; on 9 April take part in the popular alpaca experience; and from 6 to 8 April you can have a go at archery.

Tulip Fest at Strawberry Fields in Lifton – 28 March to 19 April 2026
There’s even more tulips bringing a pop of colour to West Devon this month. Half a million bulbs including 60 tulip varieties have been planted at Lifton Farm.
Strawberry Field’s Tulip Fest offers photo opportunities and entertainment alongside all the usual fun at the farm.

Wondrous Wildlife Trail at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth – 30 March to 19 April 2026

As the hedgerows and walkways start to fill with primroses The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, Devon is bursting into spring, making it the perfect place for a family day out this Easter.
The new Wondrous Wildlife Trail gives visitors the opportunity to explore the sanctuary and collect six nature rubbings of wildlife that live at the sanctuary, where they will then find out how they benefit the herds of resident donkeys. There’s a prize for collecting all six too.

Wow! Amazing Science in Children’s Books exhibition at RAMM in Exeter – until 26 April 2026
This free family-friendly exhibition brings together vibrant artwork and surprising facts to investigate the wonders of the world around us.
Journey from outer space to deepest underground, and into the workings of the human body, through the creations of artists including Oliver Jeffers, David Macauley, Marcia Williams and Yuval Zommer.

Festival of Blossom at Greenway and Coleton Fishcare in South Devon – daily until 30 April 2026

Now is the perfect time to see the Spring blooms at the National Trust’s Coleton Fishacre and Greenway properties in South Devon.

Art on Your Doorstep free outdoor art trail in Torquay – until 5 September 2026
Torre Abbey has been chosen as one of four partners to showcase The National Gallery: Art on Your Doorstep touring art trail. It brings iconic artworks from the National Gallery’s collection directly to communities across the UK.
From now until September life-sized reproductions of masterpieces by Monet, Turner, Rousseau and many more artists will be on show from Torre Abbey to Torquay Harbour.
This initiative offers residents and visitors a rare opportunity to experience world-class art in everyday settings.

Age of the Dinosaurs at Kents Cavern in Torquay – daily until 31 October 2026

Have you heard what’s arrived in Kents Cavern this month? They’re 66 million years late to the party, but dinosaurs have finally found their way into the dramatic caves, which were formed a mere 2.5 million years ago.
Age of the Dinosaurs is a new exhibition showcasing skeleton models of 18 species of pre-historic monsters. They range from the equally loved and feared T Rex to the super cute (according to my teen) 60cm long Aquilops Americanus.

Room on the Broom activity trail at Haldon Forest near Exeter – open daily

The newest children’s activity trail in the partnership between Forestry England and Magic Light Pictures is Room on the Broom. Help Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s character the Witch as she embarks on a magical journey around Haldon Forest.

Immersive family shows at Market Hall in Plymouth – all month

Enter the immersive dome at Market Hall in Devonport for a series of family-friendly 360 degree shows this month.
The dome here is the largest in Europe and gives visitors a full-scale virtual reality experience without having to don a headset.

Crafty Kids at Burton Gallery in Bideford – every Tuesday
Take your little ones to a crafty drop-in session for under-fives at Burton at Bideford Gallery every Tuesday in term time and for under 12s on Tuesdays in the school holidays.
There will be arts activities and games for children and their parents/carers for a small donation.

Tiny Tales at Theatre Royal Plymouth – every Thursday until 2 July 2026

Head to Theatre Royal for a magical, interactive theatre storytelling sessions held every week. Tiny Tales is designed for two to four-year-olds and their grown-ups to explore enchanting stories together.

Free storytelling at The Box, Plymouth – every Friday
Head to The Box in Plymouth every Friday until the end of June for its Tell Me A Story storytelling session for preschoolers.
There’s no need to book. You’ll find the half hour session held under the figureheads in the reception area at 10.30am.

Step back in time on this exciting trail as HistoryScapes, an immersive audio app, brings Greenway’s garden to life.

Jump into Spring at Dartmoor Zoo – 3 to 16 April 2026
Join Dartmoor Zoo for indoor play and activity sessions alongside your visit to meet the animals.
There will be a jungle themed bouncy castle, temporary tattoos and face painting, as well as somewhere for parents to take a breather. Simply visit the zoo’s fundraising suite over the Easter holidays.
Each 30-minute session costs £5 for 30 minutes with all proceeds going towards the running costs of the zoo.

AR Pollination Trail at Powderham Castle – 3 April to 23 May 2026

Powderham Castle near Exeter is hosting a brand new Augmented Reality experience from Easter. Visitors can use their phone or tablet to follow the map and uncover fascinating facts and hidden secrets about some of nature’s little wonders.
Discover the role bees, moths, butterflies, and even bats play in pollination and explore just how important they really are. The AR Pollination Trail will take anything from 20 to 60 minutes and is included in your Powderham admission ticket.
This experience has been created by Octopus Immersive, The Road to Happiness Ltd, and Bristol-based Artist Jamel.

Character meets at Ullacombe Farm near Bovey Tracey – 6 April 2026
Join Lydia Bailys for two special character events at Ullacombe this Easter weekend. Thwe morning session with be a princess party while the afternoon is all about Wicked and Frozen. Both events include a mini disco, games, sing-a-longs and storytelling.
While at Ullacombe Farm you can meet the newborn lambs, use the play area and enjoy lunch at the cafe. Booking is essential!

Craft at bird decoration at Overbecks in Salcombe – 6 April 2026
Overbeck’s resident crafter Elaura will help you make own little bird to take home. Be inspired by Overbeck’s garden birds which you can look out as you walk around the garden.

These free drop-in sessions explore the immersive ‘Journey with Mai’ exhibition and are perfect for children aged 4 to 11 years old, with accompanying adults.

Pirate and Dino Trams at Seaton Tramway – selected dates from 7 and 16 April 2026
All aboard the Seaton Pearl for her voyage following the Axe Estuary, for a raid to find some pirate booty at Colyton Station. Trams depart on 7 and 14 April.
Want to become a dinosaur adventurer? Join a Dino Ranger on a daring safari through the Axe Valley, where dinosaurs have returned to roam once more. Spot prehistoric creatures from your very own safari tram, tick them off your explorer’s map, and follow your Ranger deep into the world of Jurassic Discovery.

From Plymouth to Polynesia crafts at The Box in Plymouth – 7 to 17 April 2026
Be inspired by The Box’s immersive ‘Journeys with Mai’ exhibition and take part in a fun drop-in craft session.
During the first week of the holidays you can create portraits of the most important people in your lives and making cloth bookmarks.
During the second week Life on the Edge will join in the sessions to celebrate Devon’s amazing local coastline by making a ‘meadow of wildflowers’ from craft materials as well as creating Polynesian flowers.

Tractor Trailer Tours at Killerton National Trust near Exeter – 10 and 17 April 2026
Join National Trust Ranger, Steve, and farmer, Amelia, on a tractor trailer tour of the Killerton Estate. Board the trailer in front of the house before taking in the sights of 1,000 acres of registered parkland, farmland, woodland, meadows, and floodplains.
